Roopanand Rick on the Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

Hello, everyone. It’s Roopanand Rick here again, writing in the comfort of my living room, accompanied by Paray, one of my cats.

There’s this animated short that I’ve been meaning to recommend since I first saw it a few weeks ago but I can’t remember for the life of me why I’ve failed to mention it sooner. I suppose I must have gotten sidetracked again.

Anyway, this should be a good mention as any because I still find that “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” is a must-see for any animation fan. Directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, the animated film shows the story of Mr. Morris Lessmore, a writer who is whisked away by a storm into a land filled with flying books.

Roopanand Rick is, himself, an animator by profession. On days off, he relaxes at home with his cats – Paray, Max, Gypsy, and Dexter.

If the story reminded you of a few things like “The Wizard of Oz,” some favorite childhood stories, and your own experiences of what reading may feel like, then I am with you on that note. The whole 15 minutes of the short film made me reminisce on my own experience with stories and how I got to where I am right now.

Meanwhile, for those who have not seen it yet, please grab the opportunity as soon as you can and I assure you that you will not regret it. You can view more details and some snippets of the film at Moonbotstudios.com.
